Sivasagar greets Imran Shah on 87th birthday

SIVASAGAR, Nov 23 - Sivasagar today greeted noted litterateur, former president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha Imran Shah. In a celebration organised at his residence by the Sivasagar Zila Sahitya Sabha and Rongpur Sahitya Sabha, a host of organisations thronged the residence campus to greet the litterateur and wished him a more creative longer life.The organisations included Srijani, Samannay, Serekapar, Kalugaon Dikhowmukh etc., sabha units.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said that the petty crimes, juvenile mischiefs that scare the puritanic critics,do not shape the future of the nation. He said that there was no need to be over conscious about the evils, but focus on the bright future waiting to bring a smile on everyone�s face.

Speaking on his own creations, Shah said that his unique writing style had often offended some reputed writers in the initial stages.

The meeting was also addressed by Prof Sonaram Baruah, former principsl, Sivasagar Girls� College, Dr Dilip Buragohain, president, district Sahitya Sabha, Juga Gogoi, newly-elected president, district Sahitya Sabha, Manoj Kumar Borthakur, president, Rongpur Sahitya Sabha, noted poet Prema Gogoi, Partha Pradip Bora, Dr Mayashree Goswami, Dr Tridib Mahanta, Anup Barua, Swarnajyoti Baruah, D Taye, MI Bora, Sontosh Dutta and Hakikur Rahman.
