GUWAHATI, Oct 25 � The Sitaram Agarwala Stag Inter District and State Table Tennis Championship was inaugurated today at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here by State Forest Minister and president of Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) Rockybul Hussain. The meet will feature 300 players from 12 districts of the State.
In the inaugural function, Assam�s Bardie Boro, who is the national sub-junior number 1 in rankings, was felicitated by Hussain. Boro is a inmate of the PSPB Academy. In his speech, Hussain recalled the contributions made by RG Baruah in the field of sports in the State. He further said that the ATTA will try to hold more such tournaments in the future to give the players a competitive edge.
Present in the inaugural function were Managing Director of Assam Tribune Group of Publications PG Baruah, Principal of Don Bosco School, Guwahati, Fr Joseph Thellekkat, Director of Sports Sanjib Gohain Baruah among others. Earlier, ATTA secretary Tridip Duvarah gave the welcome address.
