GUWAHATI, Oct 16 - Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya observed its silver jubilee with a daylong programme here recently, where a host of important personalities of the State were present, according to a press release issued today.
Noted actress Malaya Goswami who was present as the chief guest, gave away the prizes to the winners of sports and cultural events. She also declared that she would donate her eyes.
Dr Harsha Bhattacharjee in his speech narrated how the journey of starting the hospital began twenty-five years back with a small setup and a few employees. K Muthuswamy, trustee of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya in his speech also spoke about the journey started by the hospital to meet the needs of eye patients of the north-eastern region.
