JAMUGURIHAT, Jan 12 � The silver jubilee celebrations of Bharali Pariya Bihuwa Dal, a prominent and old Bihu team of Jamugurihat, were held in cooperation with Abhiyatri, a prominent NGO of north Assam recently. A district-level workshop on Bihu at a function was held at Jamuguri Higher Secondary School on December 19. Tolan Bhuyan, seasoned Bihuwa of Sonipur, hoisted the flag in the morning, Purnaswar Bhuyan, a comic actor of repute, presided over the function.
Padma Dhakal, a veteran Nepali and Assamese author and the recipient of the Sahitya Shiromoni Award, 2013, was the special guest. The workshop was inaugurated by Tapan Gogoi, general secretary of AASU and a member of the Charaideo Bihwa Dal, Sivasagar, in the presence of Niranjan Goswami, chief instructor and Pahari Baruah, Ranjit Gogoi, Monikanchan Konwar, Janmoni Phukan, Diganta Saikia, Kabita Sinha, Manjyoti Hazarika and other instructors. A total of 530 participants took part in the workshop.
