GAURIPUR, March 7 - The silver jubilee celebration of the Gauripur branch Lekhika Samaroh Samiti will be held on March 24 on the premises of Gauripur Girls� High School with a day-long programme.
Meanwhile, a strong celebration committee has been formed with Anjali Brahma as president, Manita Baruah and Manas Chakraborty as working presidents and Dr Gita Sarkar as general secretary. The programme includes flag hoisting, smriti tarpan and a symposium on the topic �Role of women in building society�.
The open session of the Lekhika Samaroh is likely to be attended by Dr Charu Saharia Nath, working president of the State body as chief guest, Subarna Saikia Bordoloi, vice-president as appointed speaker. The souvenir to be published on the occasion is scheduled to be released by general secretary Darpana Bora Neog.
Dr Jayashree Goswami Mahanta will inaugurate the open meet of the silver jubilee celebration. After lighting of the lamp in the evening, the cultural function will be opened by Monomita Roy, a famous folk singer of Dhubri dist.
