SILCHAR, April 9 - Expressing solidarity with the fellow students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, wherein the debate on nationalism surfaced afresh, students of NIT, Silchar, staged a protest demonstration on Friday against the prevailing adverse situation.
Around 600 students roamed across the campus of the NIT, Silchar, echoing aloud slogans of Bharat mata ki jai and Vande Maataram backing the students of NIT, Srinagar.
�The kind of treatment faced by the students of NIT, Srinagar, is uncalled for. Their lives are in danger and their families are in a state of absolute disarray,� the students said. They also demanded that proper steps must be taken to ensure safety of life and career of the protesting students of the NIT, Srinagar.
