Silchar shuttler for Asia Pacific Masters Games

SILCHAR, Aug 20 - Veteran shuttler from Barak Valley Jagatjyoti Rajkumar is toiling hard during the practice sessions ahead of the 1st Asia Pacific Masters Games (APMG) to be held in Penang, Malaysia from September 7 to 15.

The 42-year-old shuttler, who hails from Bhagatpur area on the outskirts of Silchar will be among the 10 players from Assam along with four officials taking part in the first ever masters multi-sport event in Asia.

�I am aware of the importance of the tournament and looking forward to put a better performance for my country. I am practising everyday for five hours and I hope the hard work will yield fruitful results,� Rajkumar said. He is receiving financial assistance from Lakhipur MLA Rajdeep Goala and Patherkandi legislator Krishnendu Paul along with TT Club Udharbondh.
