SILCHAR, Jan 4 - On a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit neighbouring State of Manipur and address a rally in Imphal, the 55665 Silchar-Vangaichungpao passenger train connecting Jiribam has been cancelled for the day, informed officials at the Silchar Railway Station here.
"Due to some unavoidable technical issues, we had to cancel the train for today. However, other trains to and from Silchar station will ply as per schedule," said Biplab Das, station superintendent of Silchar Railway Station.
He was quick to comment that there is a lukewarm rush among passengers travelling on the route even during the days of meter-gauge lines.
