Silchar, March 23: Amidst the anguish between the election ticket deprived legislators in Bharatiya Janata Party, outgoing Katigorah legislator Amar Chand Jain has said that it is the party which takes the best decision in selecting candidates to represent the people and everyone in the party must extend support and work to make the candidates win the election.

"I was a legislator but did not get the ticket this time to contest in the ensuing election. However, I have decided to work according to the decision of the party," Jain was quoted as saying in the public rally on Tuesday in which Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had attended.

Meanwhile, countering the popular campaign slogan " khela hobe" by Congress and some independent candidates in Silchar, BJP candidate for Silchar LAC Dipayan Chakraborty said that election is not a game and people elect their representatives to speak for them in the Assembly.

Addressing a gathering at the public meeting, Chakraborty said, "election is not khela. Elected representatives have to work to frame laws in the Assembly for the overall development of the people who vote with great expectations."

He assured that he would strive to echo the voices of the people and fulfill the aspirations once he is voted to power and blessed by the people.
