GANGTOK, May 1 - Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today said the State Government would act very cautiously to ensure safe return of people stranded outside the State. He said that officers have been designated in Siliguri to facilitate the process in a phased manner.

Tamang said that a nodal officer would be appointed in each State to ensure proper coordination to help the stranded people. He urged the people to download the Aarogya Setu app for their safety.

A team can be formed comprising one ASHA worker, one Anganwadi worker, police, and ward panchayat members under the supervision of the local MLA to monitor the persons under home quarantine, and to coordinate with the medical team, he said during a meeting.

Tamang stressed the role of information technology in dealing with the current situation. He assured that the State Government would form an economic revival committee and education reform committee.
