Sikkim Govt warns errant liquor vendors

GANGTOK, April 2 - The Sikkim Excise Department has cracked the whip on vendors selling alcohol during the lockdown. In a release, the department stated that reports received from various quarters, including the public, indicated that some vendors are selling liquor and some people are even forcing the vendors to open their shops.

�It is to inform all concerned that whoever is found selling liquor will have their licence seized and cancelled, and those found buying liquor or forcing vendors to provide liquor will be prosecuted,� reads the notice.
