Sikkim director�s short film to be screened at UK fest

GANGTOK, Nov 10 - Buwa, a short film directed by filmmaker Angel Tshering of Sikkim, has been selected for official streaming at the Lift-Off Sessions festival in the United Kingdom.

The festival is a global network that selects films and short films from across the world for competition. The annual live screening of films will be held at the Pinewood Studios in the UK.

Buwa is a beautiful story of father-daughter relationship, which narrates the unconditional love of a father for his daughter, said Angel.

Deepak Sharma Dhakal, Muskan Chettri, Manisha Chettri, Pramila Chettri have acted in the 15-minutes-long movie.

Angel is currently based in Mumbai and has been working as a filmmaker for many years.

She started writing at a very young age when she was in school and had gathered accolades during her school days for her writing. Angel is a member of Screen Writers Association (Mumbai), the organisation that caters to the need of the writers in Bollywood.

Besides writing, she has acted in various short films, music videos and theater. There are four short films under her belt as a writer/director and the fifth one is in the pipeline.

She started her career in Mumbai as an assistant director in the music video �I am a Born Dancer� which was extensively shot in Mumbai.

�Khulla Aakash�, a Nepali music video directed by Angel, recently won the Best Music Video award in the Sangrila Darjeeling Literature Festival, 2019. She will be seen sharing screen space with Rajnikant and Suneil Shetty in upcoming film Darbar directed by AR Murugadoss.
