DIBRUGARH, Aug 25 - In a noble and exemplary gesture, the students fraternity, faculty and the administration of Dibrugarh University (DU) under the initiative of Auxesis, the annual techno cultural management festival organised annually by the Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology, made a considerable donation to Prerona Protibondho, a non-governmental organisation here.

The students collected over 2,000 clothes, more than 1,000 books, utensils and other accessories, which were donated to the NGO recently.

The students group who made the donation also rendered counseling while interacting with the children looked after by the NGO. The NGO, headed by Jyotsna Sonowal, particularly looks after the differently-abled children, abandoned minors and victims of trafficking and sexual assaults.

The facilitators of the NGO donation programme said that the donation campaign was the biggest till date in the university, which is targeted to help the identified NGO. They have also decided to provide lifelong support to the NGO by the helping house concept under which each department and hostel of the university will be provided with a donation box for helping the NGO in terms of anything from materialistic things to monetary assistance.
