GUWAHATI, May 11 - The 3rd edition of the All Assam Shotokan Karate Championship started today at the DTRP Indoor Stadium, RG Baruah Sports Complex here.

The championship is being organised by theShotokan Karate Do Promotion Council of UKAA in association of Greater Guwahati Karate Do Association. A total number of 360 players of different groups of Shotokan Karate Style under UKAA from Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Titabar, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, Nagaon, Kamrup Metro, Kamrup Rural, Darrrang, Baksa, Barpeta and Dhuburi are taking part.

A day-long Kata and Kumite seminar was held today for all participants of the championship which was conducted by national coach Sawan Kumar from Services. Competitions will be conducted in 75 different categories, boys and girls- sub-junior (6-13 yrs), cadet (14-15 yrs), junior (16-17 yrs) and senior men and women.
