Shooter Hriday Hazarika felicitated

GUWAHATI, Sept 20 - World junior shooting gold medallist Hriday Hazarika was accorded a warm felicitation in a well attended function organised by the Assam Rifle and Shooting Association (ARSA) at the 4th Assam Police Battalion Shooting Range here today.

Despite inclement weather conditions, number of people gathered to felicitate Hriday who recently won a gold medal at the ISSF World Championships in Changwon, South Korea.

State DGP Kuladhar Saikia congratulating the young shooter said, �He has a bright future as he is still young and has got great potential.� The DGP also advised Hriday not to be carried away by the achievement and concentrate on his game.

Arjuna Award winning athlete Bhogeswar Baruah also praised Hriday for his outstanding performance in South Korea.

ARSA president Pallab Bhattacharya, Member Secretary of the State Level Advisory Committee for Students and Youth Welfare Lakhya Konwar and senior Assam Police officer Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, also congratulated Hriday during the occasion.

Hriday, a Class X student of city based South Point School, was accompanied by his mother Iva Saikia. They are currently based in New Delhi for his advanced training.
