Shoeb Samad takes charge of India Tourism Guwahati

GUWAHATI, March 14 - Shoeb Samad has joined India Tourism Guwahati, as Regional Director.

India Tourism Guwahati is the regional office of the north eastern region under the Union Ministry of Tourism.

Samad has more than 30 years of experience in the Ministry of Tourism. He began his career with India Tourism Mumbai in 1984 and has worked in the Ministry of Tourism in New Delhi and India Tourism offices in Aurangabad, Hyderabad and Singapore in various capacities.

He was also the first director the newly opened India Tourism office in Beijing looking after tourism promotion activities in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Prior to his latest posting, Samad was the Regional Director for the southern region.

He is a recipient of the Swachh Bharat Award from the Ministry of Tourism for the �Best Maintained Regional Office� of India Tourism in Chennai.

Samad will now be responsible for coordinating tourism promotion activities in the north-eastern states.
