Shah to meet Tripura BJP delegates over poll

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, Sept 4 - With the Assembly elections doing the rounds, BJP national president Amit Shah has convened a meeting of partys core committee of the poll-bound State. The meeting is scheduled to be held in Delhi on Tuesday.

Besides, 11 members of the State BJP core committee comprising party State unit president Biplab Deb and party prabhari Sunil Deodhar, two MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and DC Hrangkhawl were also invited to the meeting, sources said.

Roy Barman and Hrangkhawl, who have joined the BJP recently, are not member of partys State unit but there are indications they will find places in the partys elite committee.

The main agenda of the meeting will be the next Assembly elections scheduled to be held early next year, said a party leader.

It is expected that the party national president will review the organisational position of the party and will give necessary instruction as per the partys roadmap for the 2018 Assembly elections, he said, adding that there will be no discussion on electoral understanding in the meeting.

Although the BJP could not make any mark in the last Assembly elections, the party is now more resurgent with leaders and people coming to the saffron brigade.
