GUWAHATI, June 5 - Congratulating the Guwahati Development Department (GDD) Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his initiative to construct a bridge connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati, the Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) today said it would fulfil a longstanding demand of the people.
SGBG ex-president Dhiren Baruah said the people of North Guwahati have suffered a lot due to the lack of a bridge. �The SGBG fought a long battle for a connecting bridge. If it becomes a reality, it would be the greatest gift for the people of North Guwahati, and a large number of people living on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra would also be benefited,� he said.
