SGBA observes 114th foundation day

DIPHU, Dec 18 - The Sarkari Gaonbura Association (SGBA) observed its 114th foundation day at the Diphu Club here on Sunday.

After the conclusion of the scheduled programme of the first session, an open session was held which was chaired by Sikari Tisso, president, SGB. Before the open session, a short prayer was organised in commemoration of Late Longmikir Rongpi, the first sarkari gaonbura in Karbi Anglong.

Amarsing Tisso, EM i/c Irrigation, KAAC and Raton Teron, EM i/c Town and Country Planning, KAAC addressed the programme. Amarsing Tisso in his speech stated that Karbi Anglong Rong Asar Amei (KARAA) is an organisation of private gaonburas but the KAAC has no information about it.

Both the guests in their speeches spoke of the role and responsibilities of the sarkari gaonburas in bringing societal change and development in the village areas.
