GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - The police have so far questioned several individuals in connection with the scam that had allegedly taken place during the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) held recently in the city.
The Azara Police Station has registered a case based on a complaint filed by one Mitradev Sarma.
The complainant alleged that he has some electronic evidence against a candidate of the said examination, who allegedly came out of the examination hall a few minutes after giving his attendance while another person stepped in as his proxy.
Sarma pointed the needle of suspicion upon a city-based private coaching institute, which, he said, had been paid a huge amount of money as a kickback.
Nandini Kakoti, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Azara, informed that her team is investigating the matter and they have already questioned the candidate.
No one has been arrested so far in this connection.
