GUWAHATI, Sept 7 - The seventh convocation of the Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) will be held tomorrow at the university�s Tepesia campus.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology SS Ahluwalia, Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the event. ADBU Chancellor Fr Januarius Sangma, Vice Chancellor Fr Stephen Mavely and a host of other dignitaries from diverse fields will also be present.
A total of 766 students will be given their graduation certificates during the convocation. Among them, 117 are from B Tech, 27 from BCA, 31 from M Tech, 56 from MSW, 18 from MCA, 35 from MBA, 20 from psychology, seven from mass communication, nine from education, 19 from physics, two from biochemistry, five from biotechnology and 19 from microbiology departments.
Besides, 328 graduates of the distance education wing of the university will also graduate on the occasion. Doctoral degrees will be conferred on 13 scholars.
Gold medals under various categories will be awarded to 17 outstanding graduates with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average in each programme. The Chancellor�s and the Vice Chancellor�s medals for overall outstanding performance and notable contribution to campus life, will be awarded to two graduating students at the convocation.
