BOKAKHAT, May 19 � A team of ambassadors of seven nations headed by the chief of the European Union, Cravnho visited the world famous Kaziranga National Park known for its one-horned rhino and other various rare and endangered animals on May 16.
The members of the team were Prof Piotr Klod Kowski (Poland), Borislar Kostov (Bulgaria), Terhi Hakala (Finland), Miloslav Stasek (Crezh Republic), Terenyi Eanos (Hungary), Marian Tomsik (Slovakia), Meier Klost (Germany). The SDO (Civil) of Bokakhat D Sinha accorded them warm felicitation with Assamese traditional phulam gamocha.
Later, the team accompanied by the KNP director Sanjiv Borah and DFO Dibyadhar Gogoi visited the eastern range (Bagori) of the park. Looking at the different endangered wild life species including rhino, elephant, swamp deer, buffalo etc., from the Dunga watch tower the visitors were immensely happy. They also enjoyed the movement of traditional big fishes like chitol, rou etc., loitering in the transparent water of the Dunga beel.
Talking to mediapersons, the Ambassador of Poland revealed that the visit to the North East is to have a first hand knowledge about the life style, manners and customs of the people of different north eastern States. The chief of the European team said that the visit would strengthen the relationship between India and the European countries in the near future.
Being attracted with the rich bio-diversity of the Kaziranga National Park, the visitors have decided to visit the world heritage site with their families and assured to extend co-operation for the further development of the park in consultation with their respective countries.
Later, the team of ambassadors left for Arunachal Pradesh.
