Seva Saptah drive in Cachar to mark PM�s 70th birthday

SILCHAR, Sept 16: To celebrate the 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, leaders and ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party are taking part in a Seva Saptah drive to add fillip to the social concerns on cleanliness and environment.

Minister of Forest, Environment and Fisheries Parimal Suklabaidya was seen with a broomstick in hand, matching steps with party workers at many places of Dholai constituency including Irongmara bazaar picking up trash and cleaning the surroundings.

�This is an initiative taken up following the direction of BJP national president JP Nadda to celebrate the birthday of our Prime Minister. Under the drive, we shall work for a clean environment and also reach out to the divyang persons as well," Suklabaidya said.

Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul was also seen taking part in a similar drive at Hospital Road.

Sharing his thoughts, Paul said, �This drive will also send the message of saying no to single-use plastic. We shall also take up plantation drive, blood donation and distribute fruits among students. We are being led by our Prime Minister who even at this age is inspiring the countrymen with his zeal and contagious enthusiasm.�
