GAURIPUR, March 16 � Asom Sattra Mahasabha and Srimanta Foundation for Culture and Society, in association with Ramraikutti Sattra and Madhupur Sattra Samiti, organised a two-day programme � �Setubandha 2015� � at Naranarayan Kshetra of the Ramraikuthi Sattra, Satrasal, Dhubri district, from March 14.
The programme began with prabhat pheri, where hundreds of Vaishnavite followers took part. It was followed by the hoisting of flag by Lilakanta Mahanta, president of Sattra Mahasabha, Assam. Basisthadev Sharma, Sattradhikar of Barpeta Sattra, inaugurated the naam prasanga. The open session was presided over by Lilakanta Mahanta and attended by Janardan Dev Goswami, Sattradhikar, Majuli Sattra, Dharma Narayan Barua, Nirmal Bhakata, MLA Durlav Chamua, ADC Bhogeswar Shyam, Jitendra Prodhani and others.
On March 15, the Setubandha Parikrama was started from the Mahamaya playground, Gauripur. It was flagged off by Lilakanta Mahanta.
