Seshan reviews schemes of APART

GUWAHATI, Feb 14 - The State Project Director of the Assam Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Services Society (ARIASS) Vinod Seshan reviewed various ongoing schemes of the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) along with the other activities implemented by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in Darrang district.

�He reviewed the progress of different activities under APART at the office of the District Agricultural Officer and held interactions with the District Agricultural Officer, ATMA, where officials from the Fishery department were also present. During the review, Seshan expressed his satisfaction on the progress of the activities under APART in Darrang district. While interacting with the officers, he observed some implementation-related issues and instructed the concerned officers to resolve them at the earliest,� a statement said.

The State Project Director also visited the tomato demonstration plot at Ondulajhar village under Pub Mangaldoi Development Block and demonstration plot on Zero Tillage Technology on potato crop at Titkuchi village under Siphajhar Development Block, which are taken up under APART Project and implemented by international knowledge partners, World Vegetable Centre (WorldVeg) and International Potato Centre (CIP), respectively.

�In these demonstration plots, Seshan interacted with the beneficiaries, who were happy with the output of these new technologies,� the statement stated further.
