SHILLONG, May 23 - Senior journalist Varioustar Nongsiej, who was also the Editor of a local daily of Meghalaya, passed away last night.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, in a condolence message today, said he was �deeply saddened� by the demise of the senior journalist. �Nongsiej has displayed utmost professionalism with his factual and objective reporting,� Sangma said in the message.
Members of the Shillong Press Club also offered their condolences in a meeting held here this afternoon.
Nongsiej was the Editor of the local daily, Kynjatshai and U Peitngor.
