GUWAHATI, Jan 28 - Senior journalist Daya Nath Singh passed away this afternoon

after a brief illness at the GMCH. He was 82. Singh was associated with various newspapers like News Star, Newsfront and Northeast Daily. Lately, he had been contributing news-based articles to various media outlets like Eastern Panorama, Merinews, Assam Times, etc.

Hailing from Bihar, Singh leaves behind his wife, five daughters and a host of relatives. He had also been associated with the Guwahati Press Club as its office secretary for the last 15 years.

Prior to Singh�s cremation tomorrow, he will be offered tribute by journalists and other associates at�10.30 am on the Press Club premises. The Guwahati Press Club, along with various scribes� bodies including All Assam Photo Journalists� Association, Journalists� Forum Assam, Electronic Media Forum, Assam, Northeast Union of Working Journalists, etc., have expressed grief at his demise and paid condolences to the bereaved family.
