Senior officials review Gunotsav at Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, Oct 15 - The second phase of Gunotsav is under progress in various parts of the State.

A high-level team led by State Education Commissioner Preetom Saikia visited several schools in Udalguri district recently. He was accompanied by Anupam Choudhury, Joint Secretary (Elementary Education) of the State.

The Commissioner first visited Kalaigaon Girls� HS. He along with other officials participated in the school morning assembly. Binu Deka, Headmistress of the school welcomed the Commissioner and other guests with traditional Assamese phulam gamusa.

The Commissioner inspected all the classrooms, toilets and kitchen. He interacted with the girl students. After inspection, the Commissioner informed that community participation is quite satisfactory.

The State Government had released an amount of Rs 936 core for improvement of classrooms, payment of electricity bills, boundary walls etc. He further said that annual grants would be given to the schools on the basis of enrolment.

Krishna Barua, OSD, RMSA and Bhaben Deuri, Inspector of Schools, Udalguri were also present during the inspection. Later, the team visited Kalaigaon ME Madrassa HS.
