DIPHU, July 27 - After large-scale detection of COVID-19 positive cases in Karbi Anglong, green zone Diphu town has now turned into a danger zone. Detection of more than 40 cases within 48 hours have sent shock waves among the urban dwellers. Conscious sections have expressed apprehension about possible community outbreak of the deadly disease.
Joysing Bey, senior Forest department officer posted as Divisional Forest Officer, Karbi Anglong West Division, expired in GMCH yesterday midnight after fighting for life for more than seven days. However, his wife has recovered. Family members of the deceased have rushed to Guwahati today morning to oversee the arrangements of his last rites.
Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of an efficient bureaucrat. He has requested everyone to maintain social distancing and follow other COVID-19 guidelines. The Secretariat of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council closed down after 1 pm as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
A baby boy was delivered by a COVID-19 positive mother today at Diphu Medical College and Hospital. A team of doctors made possible the critical Caesarean delivery. Both mother and the child are in good health now. The mother was admitted at Covid dedicated hospital on July 23 after she had tested positive.
