BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 2 - Dr Nipam Kumar Saikia, noted fiction writer both in Assamese and English, who has so far published three collections of short stories, has been awarded Senior Fellowship under literary section by the Union Ministry of Culture to carry forward his research project on Bob Dylan and Bhupen Hazarika.

Dr Saikia�s short stories and articles got published in The Assam Tribune, The Hindu, Sahitya Akademi�s literary journal Indian Literature, India Today�s Sahitya Barshiki, Prantik and Gariyashi.

Presently working as senior assistant professor in the Department of English, some of Dr Saikia�s stories have been translated into Hindi, Tamil and Odia.
