GUWAHATI, May 31 - The monthly meeting of the Rukminigaon Jyestha Nagarik Sanmilan was held on May 28 under the presidentship of Mahim Chandra Deka, in which a talk on yoga was delivered by senior citizen Rabin Bhuyan.
Jojneswar Gogoi, general secretary of the sanmilan, gave a gist of the activities of the organisation.
Bhuyan, an ardent yoga devotee of Beltola locality, dwelt on the spiritual aspect of yoga, especially for senior citizens and he urged them to amalgamate yoga with spirituality in their day-to-day life.
Hariprasad Chutia, a member of the sanmilan, said the philosophy of yoga was developed by Maharshi Patanjali and is incorporated in the Atharba Veda.
Dr NK Choudhury, ex-VC of Gauhati University, Bholanath Hazarika, spiritual leader and Kinaram Das, social activist, also participated in the discussion that was followed by the talk, a press release stated.
