Senior citizens� body to extend aid to Kerala flood victims

GUWAHATI, Aug 24 - The Guwahati Senior Citizens' Association has decided to extend financial assistance of Rs 20,000 towards the relief of the flood-affected people of Kerala.

The amount will be paid by the Association through Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal tomorrow, said the Association president DN Chakravartty here today.

The Association will also celebrate its 19th foundation day on August 27 with a function to be held at the Sudmersen Hall of Cotton University.

The function will be inaugurated by eminent writer and thinker Homen Borgohain and addressed by Advocate General of Assam Ramesh Barpatragohain as the guest of honour. The function will be presided over by Chakravartty.
