GUWAHATI, Jan 14: A general meeting of the senior citizens of greater Jyotinagar was held under the presidentship of Dr Robin Dev Choudhury at Pub Guwahati High School recently, a press release stated.
At the meeting, Dhruba Nath Sarma spoke of the liabilities and responsibilities of the senior citizens to the society. Several other senior citizens also spoke of the necessity of the senior citizens for development of the society, environment etc. Special guest Binode Kr Gogoi stated that the presence and advice of senior citizens is most essential in the improvement of the society.
After the general meeting, a committee was formed with the following members: president Dhrubanath Sarma, executive president Robin Sarma, vice presidents Basanta Barman, Dharma Kanta Sarma, Usha Burahgohain, general secretary Dinesh Ch Chakravarty, joint secretaries Harinath Sarma, Prabhat Ch Das, and treasurer Rajani Ram Das.
