Seminar on World Peace Movement

GUWAHATI, March 13 - The Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools of Assam led by TP Bhattacharjee, consultant director, MVMs Assam, organised a seminar on Maharishi World Peace Movement on March 10 at MVM Silpukhuri here, said a press release today.

The seminar was aimed at initiating effective steps to promote peace among the people in and around the city.

The Vice Chancellor of Cotton University Prof Bhabesh Chandra Goswami who was the chief guest emphasised that the World Peace Movement is the need of the hour for the young as well as the elderly.

Guests of honour Siddhartha Bhattacharya, MLA of East Guwahati constituency and retired DGP GM Srivastav spoke about their experiences of transcendental meditation (TM) which they asserted, is an important means of achieving peace.

Consultant director Bhattacharjee spoke about the importance of TM and apprised the gathering of its founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi�s emphasis on meditation and the World Peace Movement.

The principals of MVMs Guwahati, MVM Tezpur and MVM Tangla also attended the programme. There was an exchange of views and opinions between the speakers and the listeners.

The seminar unanimously resolved to request the leaders of developed and powerful nations not to indulge in any form of incitement or provocation that could lead to �World War III�, in the best interest of humanity.
