TINSUKIA, Sept 7 � In view of the declaration that Tinsukia had been included in the list of 100 urban hubs of the country that will be elevated to be one of the Smart Cities by the present Union Government, Designer�s Associates, Tinsukia and NGO Forum, Tinsukia jointly organised a day-long seminar on �Hopes and aspiration for a Smart City Tinsukia� at the District Library auditorium here on Saturday.
The seminar was addressed by a number of noted citizens including former chairman, Tinsukia Development Authority, Rajen Baruah, president of the Designer�s Associates, Manoj Bora, Town Planner of Town and Country Planning department, Govt of Assam, Biswajit Bora among others.
The meeting was presided over by Rubul Baruah. The speakers opined that the features like safe drinking water, sewage management, use of recycled water for growing organic fruits and vegetables, solid waste management, good infrastructures and digital connectivity through metro rail or light rail system for better transport system through Public Private Partnership (PPP) of the Smart City would open many avenues for the people of Tinsukia and people should be ready to take the advantage of the forthcoming opportunities of the project.
