HAILAKANDI, April 27 - A national seminar on human development in India with special reference to the Northeast was recently held at SS College in Hailakandi.
The seminar was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and was organised by the Department of Economics of the college.
Dilip Kumar Dey, director of Scholar Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati, spoke on demographic transition and human development, while Prof B Mishra of NEHU delivered a lecture on different areas of study of human development in the North-east.
