Seminar on challenges in rural India transformation

JORABAT, Jan 6 - A national seminar on �Transformation of rural India: Challenges towards sustainability�, being organised by the Department of Geography, Sonapur College, is scheduled to be held on March 29 and 30 next, a press release issued here stated.

The seminar, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), NERC, Shillong, will be held in collaboration with the State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD), Assam, with support from Daffodil Nursery Old, Khetri, informed Dr Ananda Das and Dr Asraf Ali, conveners of the seminar.

Besides the key theme of the seminar, there are 15 relevant sub-themes on which the participants will be expected to deliberate in seven technical sessions and two plenary sessions. Interested researchers, scholars or others working in the similar fields may attend the seminar as general participants or paper presenters.

The organisers have received consent from a number of eminent scholars of the north-eastern region for their participation at the seminar as resource persons. The organisers have requested the participants to send their abstracts on or before January 31 and full paper before February 28, 2019, through e-mail id [email protected]. The organisers further informed that the selected research papers will be published in a book with the ISBN Code.
