GUWAHATI, June 23 - Bengali Joint Coordination Committee, Asom, a platform of 14 organisations of Bengali-speaking Assamese people, is organising a seminar at the Lakshmiram Baruah Sadan here at 2 pm tomorrow to highlight the contributions of the Bengali people who have been living in Assam since Independence and assimilated into the Assamese national life, to the literary-cultural and socio-political and economic fields of Assam.
Several Assamese litterateurs, artistes and intellectuals of Bengali origin along with many established Assamese litterateurs and intellectuals are scheduled to take part in the seminar, according to Sukumar Biswas, president of the committee.
