GUWAHATI, Sept 21 � In the third quarterfinal match of the Independence Day Cup Football Tournament played at the Nurul Amin Stadium here today, Nagaland Police defeated Muhanbagan SAIL, Durgapur by 3-2 goals.

Limakumzuk of Nagaland recorded a hatrick by scoring three goals in 13th, 20th and 26th minutes respectively.

SAIL narrowed the gap by scoring two goals in the 23rd and 90th minutes of the match through Jerry and O Pulamte.

In keenly contested last quarterfinal match of the tournament played today, Assam Police Blues of Guwahati defeated Royal Wahindoo, Shillong 2-1.

For Assam Police Blues, Luit Taie and Joseph Maslai scored one goal each in the 12th and 48th minutes respectively.

The lone goal for the Shillong team was scored by Kit Bukuas Pile in the 21st minute.

In the first semi final tomorrow, OIL Football Club, Duliajan will take on CAG, Delhi.

Assam Police Blues will meet Nagaland Police in the second semi final of the tournament.
