Semifinal line-up drawn in ID cricket

GUWAHATI, April 19 - The semifinal line-up has been drawn in the Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament for the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy.

Table leader after the quarterfinal league, which completed today, Guwahati (17 points) will play against fourth position holder Nagaon (7 points) at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara here while Silchar (second position holder with 15 points) will lock horns with third position holder Bongaigaon (14 points) at the Mangaldai Stadium in Mangaldai. Both the semifinals will be held from April 21 to 23.

The last matches of the quarterfinal league, between Guwahati and Silchar at Mangaldai and Bongaigaon and Nagaon at the ACA Stadium ended in a draw and all the teams collected one point each from these drawn matches.

At Barsapara, resuming at an overnight total of 26 for no loss, Bongaigaon were 103 for the loss of three wickets after 30 overs when the match was called off due to bad light.

Guwahati scored 232 for nine in 55.3 overs in their first innings against Lakhimpur when stumps were finally drawn. The first day�s play was abandoned yesterday.

Pritam Debnath (72), Riyan Parag (67) and Sanzow Brahma (42) were the leading scorers for Guwahati.

Brief scores: Nagaon 1st Innings 159.

Bongaigaon 1st Innings (overnight 26/0) 101/3 (Parthajit Baishya 37 n.o., Sunil Ranjan Gogoi 17 n.o.).

Guwahati 1st Innings 232/9 (Pritam Debnath 72, Riyan Parag 67, Sanzow Brahma 42, Sahil Jain 23; Rishikesh Bora 4/61, Nayanjyoti Baruah 3/54).
