GUWAHATI, Oct 7 - Self-confidence is a very important aspect of our lives, particularly among young and aspiring students, according to London-based chartered marketer Hiramoni Sarma.
Sarma, the head of marketing at an FTSE 100 company based in the UK spoke to a group of students in the Department of International Business at Gauhati University and of the Humanities departments at Cotton University recently, a press release stated.
During her interactions, she offered students practical tips and hard-hitting techniques on how to develop self-confidence. Sarma, who is also the vice president (mentoring) for an international speaking club where she mentors members to build self-confidence, stressed that no one is born with a certain level of self-confidence and this could be improved by setting specific goals.
Sarma said there are research-based structures that could be applied to develop one�s confidence and they have positive impacts. She offered practical insights on improving positive thinking and developing an optimistic outlook that are key ingredients to success.
She said that setting a goal helps one to focus, become committed and generate the power and energy to achieve that goal. She said that the moment one believes in his or her abilities, great things start to happen.
