Select shops to open in Kohima

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, June 18 - Permitted commercial establishments in Kohima have been allowed to open on weekdays from 7 am to 4 pm with immediate effect, said Kohima DC Gregory Thejawelie today. He said the decision was taken in consultation with the District Task Force, Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and Kohima Municipal Council.

However, shops selling second-hand items, barber shops and salons, tea stalls and hotels will remain shut, while restaurants and fast-food stalls have been allowed to offer only takeaway services. Dine-in services in restaurants will remain strictly prohibited, Thejawelie said.

He said that shops selling fish, chicken and fowls, pork, beef, mutton, etc., would not be allowed to open in the main markets. All such shops have been advised to operate inside colonies.
