Security of train passengers stressed

GUWAHATI, June 8 - Additional Director General (ADG) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) PS Rawal today reviewed various issues pertaining to crime in the railways at the Zonal Crime Conference of Security Department of Northeast Frontier Railway held at Maligaon.

Considering the recent cases of train passengers being looted after being administered drugs, the ADG has directed the divisional officers of RPF to lay more emphasis on complete eradication of such crimes.

He also advised the divisional officers of RPF to stress security of passengers, especially women and elderly people, and dealing with passengers under distress with a humane face.

The conference was attended by Additional Chief Security Commissioner of RPF in NFR Birendra Kumar and RPF officers from all five divisions of NFR.

Following the conference, Rawal also inaugurated a central police canteen for the RPF staff at RPF Reserve Line.
