GUWAHATI, Dec 4 - The City Police has imposed prohibition on assembly of more than five persons in any area under West Police District Guwahati.
The order, issued under Section 144 of CrPC, will remain in force till January 31, 2018 and has been issued as there is possibility of certain organisations holding protest rallies or dharnas and creating a law-and-order situation on issues like NRC updating process and eviction in Amchang.
It was also stressed that social welfare department is merely the nodal agency for disability and that all issues of persons with disabilities cannot be looked after by it.
