GUWAHATI, Dec 9 - The second phase of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls for 19 constituencies in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts will be held tomorrow.
Kokrajhar and Chirang have 12 and seven seats respectively.
In Kokrajhar, over 6.5 lakh voters will decide the fate of 77 candidates that are in the fray in 12 seats. In Chirang district, 34 candidates are contesting in the seven seats where the electorate strength is over 3.68 lakh.
State Election Commission sources said that adequate security had been deployed in all the polling stations for smooth and peaceful conduct of the polls. �We expect the polls to be peaceful, as was the case in the first phase. The voter turnout is also likely to be large,� sources added.
The first phase of the polls in Udalguri and Baksa districts saw a polling percentage of 77.
The run-up to the election witnessed hectic politicking by the major parties and the polls are expected to be a keenly-contested multi-cornered one.
