GUWAHATI, April 6 - The second day of Gunotsav in the government LP and ME schools was celebrated today in Kamrup Metro district under the aegis of the education department in collaboration with the Kamrup Metro administration.

Senior government officials including Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, DGP Mukesh Sahay, Additional Chief Secretary KV Eapen, Commissioner and Secretary LS Changsan, State Coordinator for NRC Prateek Hajela, Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu and others visited a number of schools in the district to test the general knowledge, writing ability and numerical skills of the students.

Five IAS officers, 25 ACS officers, one IPS and IFS officer each and two APS officers, among 245 external evaluators, spent the whole day today covering 233 schools in the district.

The percentage of students present was above 91 per cent today. Evaluation of the schools in the district will end tomorrow.

In the Gunotsav 2017, a total of 708 schools are being covered in the district.
