IMPHAL, April 22 - Manipurs second COVID-19 patient, who tested negative in two successive tests, was discharged from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here on Tuesday.

Manipur had earlier reported two COVID-19 cases and both the patients have been released now.

Though the patient was released from hospital following improvement in his condition, he will remain under surveillance.

Surveillance over him will continue, stated a press release issued by Additional Director of the State Health Department Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang.

Even after the patient tested negative on April 18 and 19, he was advised to remain in hospital for a few days as he is a diabetic.

On April 19, Chief Minister N Biren Singh had tweeted, I am glad to share that Manipur is now Corona free. Both patients have fully recovered and have tested negative.
