WILLIAMNAGAR, June 17 - In view of the night road blockade called by certain NGOs in the entire Garo Hills, the East Garo Hills District Magistrate, Swapnil Tembe has promulgated Section 144 of CrPC in the entire district with immediate effect prohibiting obstruction and disruption to movement of vehicles and carrying of weapons by any person, group of persons or organisations.
The official communiqu� stated that such obstructions or intimidations are likely to lead to a breach of peace which may result in disturbance of public tranquility.
