NILAMBAZAR, July 28 - The district magistrate of Karimganj imposed Section 144 CrPC throughout the district on Friday.
As per the order, the district magistrate has restrained movement of more than four persons along with arms and ammunition and prohibited holding of any meeting, demonstration etc in the district.
He mentioned that no one can hold rallies, demonstrations, meetings, dharna etc without prior permission of the district administration.
District magistrate Pradip Kumar Talukdar said that Section 144 CrPC has been imposed for ensuring smooth organisation of Independence Day celebrations in this border district.
