KOKRAJHAR, Aug 13 � A high-level meeting of the district police officers, paramilitary and Army officials was held on Wednesday at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar to discuss measures to prevent untoward incidents during the forthcoming Independence Day celebration.
The DM of Kokrajhar, Carol Narzary has promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC in the district to check acts of subversion, which will remain in force until further orders. Some restrictions have also been imposed on public movement along railway tracks.
Meanwhile, the Kokrajhar district administration has chalked out a daylong programme to celebrate the 64th Independence Day. It will begin with the prabhat pheri at 4.30 am followed by the playing of patriotic songs through FLS, hoisting of the national flag at residences, shops and business establishments, government and semi-government offices, educational institutions, etc. The procession of students of educational institution to the Kokrajhar Govt HS School playground will start from 8.15 am.
The district administration will also organise children�s sports events and a football match between the District Administration XI versus KDSA XI at Kokrajhar Govt HS School playground at 10.45 am and 4 pm respectively.
